The Plan

Innovation from the Ground Up

Originally created as a University Athletics Facilities District, Novus Innovation Corridor is intended to generate long-term, predictable revenue to support the renovation of collegiate athletic facilities while integrating corporate and campus innovation. Novus will become an innovative, sustainable mixed-use development with new and renovated, best-in-class collegiate athletic venues.

ASU & Catellus:
A Public/Private Partnership

Novus is a public/private partnership between ASU and Catellus Development Corporation. As master developer, Catellus will work collaboratively with ASU to implement the Novus Innovation Corridor design and install required infrastructure, market development opportunities to the commercial real estate community and end users, and manage the community as it develops, on behalf of ASU.

Sustainability

As a primary tenet, sustainability remains at the very core of the Novus Innovation Corridor. In April of 2021, Novus received a Gold LEED-ND certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Neighborhood Development) from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). All vertical development within the development will pursue LEED certification.

Fueled by Innovation

The plan envisions Novus as an extension of ASU’s innovative educational environment—a place that will encourage the introduction of new ideas and methods to promote environmentally sensitive, carbon-neutral strategies along with integrating smart-city technology.
